About Livingston, NJ - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Located in Essex County, New Jersey, Livingston is a growing suburb with nearly 30,000 residents. The community was originally incorporated in 1813 and was named for the first Governor of New Jersey – William Livingston. Livingston is a part of the New York Metro Area, and it is bordered by Roseland, West Orange, and the Passaic River. Despite the close proximity to other cities, Livingston offers residents a variety of events within the township, including July 4th celebrations, summer concerts, a senior pool party, and holiday festivals.

Although Livingston is largely a bedroom community, there are still things to see and do here. A main shopping area can be found in the center of town, and in addition to specialty shops, chain stores like Dunkin’ Donuts, ShopRite, and Starbucks are here. Livingston Mall houses department stores like Sears, Lord & Taylor, and Macy’s, and a third shopping area along Route 10 also is home to the Rt 10 Farmer’s Market. Several performing arts organizations also call Livingston home, including the Livingston Symphony Orchestra, the Children’s Theatre of Livingston, and the New Jersey Ballet.

Livingston is known for its four distinct seasons, and with those seasons come very different weather patterns. Summers here are sunny, hot, and humid, requiring residents to invest in a reliable way to stay cool at home. Central air conditioning is preferred to window units, as it offers consistent cooling throughout a home.

Winter weather in the region is cold and damp, and temperatures can easily dip down under freezing overnight. Snowfall totals are lower than other parts of the U.S. at only about 25 inches, but with dangerous temperatures, residents need to prepare at home with the right furnace. The two most popular home heating systems in Livingston are gas and electric, and while electric heaters produce clean heat that is readily available when needed, electric systems are simple to use and relatively easy to repair.
